Questions for self-observation and learning about myself.

If you are asked if you feel here, the most normal response is “Sure, where will I be!”

However, that exclamation is generally an idea, something that is logical to think. But we tend neither to be here or in ourselves. We are rather with our mind anywhere, perhaps very far from the feeling of our body here and now. Living like this has its consequences and I would say that none is good.

But let’s look for that feeling of being here and in ourselves. Or, at least, an approach to practice at any time of the day.

Surely you have ever been lying on the sand of a beach or on a meadow, in silence, without thinking about anything, feeling the sun’s heat on your body, perhaps feeling that the muscles relax and you get a slight smile and a sense of well-being.

If you have lived that, you have an example in your own experience that will work as a reference to feel your body here and now and be in yourself at any time. Because, although the situation is not the same and we are anywhere else, you can deliberately feel your body, relax it and have a sense of well-being.

I already know that it is not normal and that it seems to you that everything around is conspiring against feeling like that. Incorrect. You can always do it. Discard the doubt or the negative idea and DO IT. Just do it. You do not have to wait to be in a particular place or at a certain time.

Feel your body here and now, feel yourself in you. It is an indispensable first step. Enjoy the feeling of yourself, of your bodily presence where everything fits.
