Why live distracted from my life?
Contribution by José Parés Pérez
Our curiosity strongly depends on the state of mind with which we deal with the reality that is always before us.
When we are open to real life it is like walking with open arms and an interest in observing reality. On the other hand, when we are in a state that keeps us in fear, worried or distracted it as if we are permanently shut in on ourselves, huddled up and lacking any interest in reality.
It is not surprising that in this state of mind we also suffer because we are not at ease with what life offers us or what we imagine that life is giving us. It is likely that we are the under the influence of compulsive and wandering thoughts.
Completely lacking in curiosity, we tend to remain there wallowing in our suffering or malaise.
Ask yourself what is happening to you at this moment. You cannot continue in this state. It is not a way of life for an intelligent being. It is likely that in this mood you will soon become seriously ill. Everything seems bad to you, you judge everything you perceive and the sour nature of your comments is very marked; you are likely to be seriously damaging your relationships. You will probably have noticed that much of what is actually happening to you, is something you do not want or perhaps have not even fully appreciated.
In any event, you are not living, or at least not having the life that the Universe created for you.
The only thing that you must do is to love and pay attention to yourself. Gradually you will realise that life will suggest how to love yourself if you remain present in your life. Do not abandon your life again. Maintain a deliberate and kindly attention towards yourself and you will learn what love towards others really is.
Nobody who really loves or respects themselves can live distracted from their lives.
